Brad is catholic-so we found it very fitting to attend Sunday morning mass at the Vatican. Brad has been looking forward to this for a long time. We were hoping to go to a service that the Pope led-but it ended up being one of the cardinals. It was still so cool to experience! We woke up very early for 10:30 mass and got right in. There were sayings in 7 different languages but the majority of it was in Italian. I could understand bits and pieces but I wasn't able to follow it well. The service lasted about an hour and there were so many people there! Luckily, we were able to get a spot on the benches and we sat next to an english couple. We did communion and then moved to the back to see the cardinals march off after the service. After mass, we toured the Vatican and came back to my apartment to relax after a busy weekend. We also did Bernini's fountains in Piazza Navona at night which was so cool! At this point...we had already fallen in love with Italy.
